HOW THIS 21-YEAR-OLD NORWEGIAN TRAVELLED TO 18 COUNTRIES IN RS 6.3 LAKH

Everyone dreams of travelling the world and exploring new places. However, globetrotting is not exactly easy on the pockets. Travelling from one country to another is quite expensive. But, imagine if you could travel to at least 18 countries for under Rs 6.5 lakh. Well, a 21-year-old guy shared a trick using which he has been able to travel to the expensive countries of Europe without shelling out much money. Shocking, right?

21-year-old, Robert Michelsen from Norway spent eight months travelling around Europe. He visited Portugal, Serbia, Croatia and Poland and kept his expenses low in a unique way. As per Daily Star, he has travelled to about 18 countries by spending £6,000 (Rs 6.3 lakh).

Robert Michelsen was determined to travel the world and make sure money never stopped him. He was very careful with his expenditure and barely visited the restaurants. Instead, he would eat raw eggs and carrots. Instead of splurging to get himself a room at some hotel, he preferred to sleep in the caves, beaches or cheap hostels on his way. Reportedly, he had run-ins with wolves and got nearly robbed, but he would have not done it any other way.

He wishes to see the world and thinks that money should not stop him. Hence, he relied on his skills which he has been learning as a boy. His love for travelling made him begin his solo travel adventure in February 2023. He used to stay at farms for free. In exchange for a place to stay and a plate of food, he used to milk the cows every morning for a month. He continued to travel the world and used to set up a tent for a week on a secluded spot on a beach.

After island hopping for a few months, he travelled to Lisbon, Portugal and stayed in a cheap hostel. Later, he took a trip to Sintra and snuck into the famous Pena Palace for free as he did not want to pay the high entry cost. As per Robert Michelsen, he spent approx £4,273 (approx Rs 4.4 lakh) on flights, accommodation, food and activities.
